Here is the huge waste ink pad below the printer. Lots of ink end up into the waste ink pads.

Connect a waste ink bottle like this to the waste ink drain from the printer. This is an extra large 500 ml waste ink
bottle converted to capture waste ink. The bottle can easily be taped or tied to the printer.
Get this bottle for free when you order the 8 oz CIS combo kit.
The two drain lines will be connected to ink lines connected to an external ink bottle.
I suggest using a bottle no smaller than 240 ml.
