Fill the cartridge with the correct color ink to 99% with both plugs removed. Install the refill plugs and insert the syringe without the needle into the breather port and press it firmly in place. Once the syringe is tightly fitted into the breather hole, pull the plunger half way to create a vacuum. The syringe should be purged of air before this procedure. Repeat several times until the all the air bubbles are removed from the cartridge. Leave the cartridge overnight in upright position before use. Be sure to remove the breather plugs before printing.

If you have to purge air bubbles from the cartridge after it has been installed, use the syringe without the needle to draw ink from the poppet valve. The poppet valve is where ink leaves the cartridge into the nozzle. See the photo below:
