This mounting cross bar raised the ink ribbon to give it enough
clearance so the cartridge will move freely without touching the track /
pizza wheels. Try the cross bar on the printer without removing the
adhesive to locate the correct mounting position. It should only go on
one way. Be sure the ink ribbon does not touch the paper track when
moving the carriage back and forth manually.

The standard PK cartridge is installed as the 7 color set. If you need to
use the MK cartridge, the PK will be removed. The MK cartridge will
not be installed unless it is the primary color. In that case the PK will be
removed. MK ink line is indicated by the red tape to avoid mix up.
Please do not remove the tape.

This photo shows how the ink ribbon should be mounted. Be sure the
ink ribbon does not touch the paper feed track or the pizza wheels. You
could double the clips to make the ribbon more securely mounted.

The tank must be elevated slightly to avoid ink reverse flow.
